13 Week Update
We’ve made it to 13 weeks which is the tail end of the first trimester! We have been meaning to update everyone, but life has been busy and honestly fatigue got the best of me most evenings.
I had the second OB appointment on Monday, October 23. We were able to see MPC pretty well and hear a strong heartbeat. Michael still has to be on Google Meet due to COVID restrictions, but he still got to watch and listen. They did draw some blood for genetic screening and carrier tests.
The following Monday, we found out that we are having a boy! We were both hoping for a boy although would have been just as happy with a healthy girl. All the other tests came back normal meaning little chance of the chromosomal deficiencies that were tested for and I am not a carrier of the several diseases. In short, both our baby boy and I are healthy and happy.

We did have names picked out for both genders and we are pleased to announce that our little boy’s name will be:
Kane Dalton Schneider
Now at 13 weeks, a lot of my first trimester symptoms have subsided. I have not been having as much queasiness and fatigue. I go home and actually feel like I have the energy to do things around the house or make dinner for my husband.
We did get the family cradle from my cousin in Indiana on our way up to Deleware to see my grandparents in October. My Papa Jack is actually the one that made the beautiful cradle and he helped Michael make a small rocking share for Kane while we up there.

The nursery is pretty much just a room to put all the baby items we have received and bought, but we did manage finish up our registries for the most part. We decided to register at Target primarily and then use Babylist for the items we couldn’t find at Target, including the Lord of the Rings decor for Kane’s nursery.
If anyone who is reading this is has had a baby recently, I would love some advice on what to register for that is not normally thought of?
